Is it possible to create custom fields for new post types? Or change the displayed name of current custom fields in the included post types that have them?

I need to create several post types and would really love to have custom fields for each that I could call upon in the template. If this can be done with the plugin it would save me a lot of work.

Great work by the way! Very useful plugin!

This can be done via your functions.php file, although I’ll admit it’s not really easy. It’s going to get easier in a future release, but right now it’s kind of kludgy. You can call any custom field using the tmeplating system, however, so if you can live with just having them added to your general custom fields rather than as special fields, that would work, too.

If you want to email me via the contact form to ask about how to do customization via functions.php, I’ll do that, though.

Thanks for the response Joe! I don’t have a problem using the general custom fields and got that to work, but should probably make it easier for my client to upgrade.

I will send you an email to inquire more about getting it to work in the functions file. Thanks!
