Support » Plugins » [Plugin: My Calendar] Shortcode stopping page display

  • Hey there. I’m using the latest My Calendar version (1.9.8), and up until now it has been functioning very well.

Unfortunately, a problem has come up very suddenly that I don’t know how to fix: every page that the [my_calendar] shortcode is included on breaks. The title will display, but everything after that disappears. As far as I can tell, the main content div is opened, but the page doesn’t display anything after that, including the text that was written above the calendar shortcode.

I’ve created a sample page to show this problem here:

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • I have a funny feeling this is to do with the new year. I noticed yesterday that ther dates were all wrong 1 year ahead. And today it will only show one day out of the week in the week view and will not show at all in month view hmmmm

Hi – it sounds like you have two separate issues. @klanier, your issue is with PHP memory limits — I’ll have a new version out soon which places limits on the cache size that My Calendar uses, but for now you can fix this by increasing your PHP memory limit.

@daverogers I’m not sure what you’re seeing – I’m not seeing an equivalent of this in my installations. Can you submit a support request via the plugin’s built in support form?

Thank you very much! That worked very well.

Joe, I was certain my widget for Upcoming Events use to link the listed event back to my calendar so folks could the rest of the details on the main calendar but now that is not the case. I tried all kind of combinations of shortcodes to make the event link to the calendar and the only thing I was able to do was make the event link to the URL associated with the event if it has one. Am I nuts or was this a feature for the widgets? Is there a short code I can use to make event showing up under the Upcoming Events link back to the calendar where I have added the event?

Thank you Joe and Happy New Year to you!

The upcoming events widget can have a link back to the calendar generically (not exactly to that event’s information), it can have a link to an automatically-generated info page with the event’s details, or to the provided event URL – but those are the only options that are available…so, you might be misremembering, unless you had somebody do some special customization for you.

Thank you Joe. Any idea when the upcoming widget is going to be available?

What do you mean? Do you mean will I add the feature to link back to the calendar in the manner you’re requesting? If so, that will not be an option at any time in the near future. There are many other options already available for linking from the upcoming events widget to see the details for that event either as a pop-up or on another page, and I don’t see any significant value to adding another option in that area.
