Support » Plugin: Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin » Wrong Days, Changes Dates

  • UPDATE: Phil Derkens helped me through this as you can see below! Thank you!

This was easy to setup; however, it’s pretty useless if it doesn’t get the dates right. Some of the dates are correct, while others are off by a day. Here’s my link: http://rbcbakersfield.org/calendar/

I’ll do my best to explain. It seems like the plugin shifted events a whole day ahead. I kept checking my Google Calendar, but I didn’t find anything wrong. I changed the timezone in advanced settings to Los Angeles time, since UTC might have been the problem. Nope. Many events are still shifted over a day. I went ahead and deleted the calendar and created a new one. I’m still facing the same problem.

I would love to rate this 5 stars…Hopefully this issue is resolved asap. This could possibly be the best plugin out there for this kind of task.

    Thank you…

@arturohurtadorbc Hey sorry for the error out of the gates.

You probably discovered some bugs that others also experience more recently. If you could try this beta it may fix your issue. We’ve been working hard at a few fixes in the last few days or so.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/q5cbw9fny6ezko0/simple-calendar-3.1.8-beta2.zip?dl=0

It is marked appropriately as a beta so you will still receive the automatic update notification when we push the official release.

Since our beta versions require a manual update process, you’ll need to deactivate and remove the existing versions of the plugins first. Just make sure you do NOT have “Delete settings” and “Erase calendar data” checked under Calendars > Settings > Advanced if you’d like to retain your data.

If 3.1.8 is released before you get to this it will include what’s in the beta linked above.

In the future, it would help us if you posted in the support forums first to try and resolve things. We’d appreciate it.

In any case we’d love to help you (and others with the same issue) get this fixed ASAP.

    Thanks.

    @pderksen, thanks for responding.

When I click your Dropbox link and try to download the file, I get an error message. “There was an error downloading your file.” It won’t allow me to download.

@arturohurtadorbc Sorry that should work, but here’s an alternate link:

    Does that one work?

@Pderkens Thank you! It worked. I don’t think anything was wrong with your link… The error message might have something to do with my browser or Dropbox account. However, I downloaded with ease on my phone and followed your instructions above. It was successful. Thank you!

@pderkens Sorry to be a pest, but the problem continues. 🙁 It worked for a little while, but now that I check again, the dates and times are still wrong. Do you know how long it will take until you guys fix the issue? There’s really no rush on my end… But I don’t want to continue interrupting your work.

@arturohurtadorb Could you start a new topic in the support forums so we can track better?

    https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/google-calendar-events/

Please include that you’re using 3.1.8-beta2 and include your timezone settings and public google calendar ID.

    Thanks.

@arturohurtadorbc If you didn’t start a topic yet, since the last post 3.1.8 final has been released, and a few other folks with similar issues have replied that it’s fixed.

If issues still persist for you, please start a new support thread.

In any case, thanks for updating your review!

I’m experiencing the same issue on our page. I’ve checked all settings and Google calendar and it seem as if there might be a bug.

    Any assistance available?
