WYSIWYG field type breaks screen-options-wrap + others (14 posts)

    WYSIWYG field type seems to disable all other jQuery functions on the backend of a post, i.e., the screen options pulldown, adding categories or tags, embedding of images, etc...

    It also removed the HTML buttons in the text editor. Has anyone resolved this one?

    The problem is in the plugin in file more-fields-field-types.php on lines 49 - 54.

    Lines 51 and 54 are commented out, and this is causing the error.

    However when you do comment them in, it's not good yet either, cause it will now let the jquery functions work, but something is not correct in those lines, so the boxes come with loads of text.
    Haven't been able tof figure out what's wrong there. Is there no more support on this plugin? Would be a shame cause it's a wonderful plugin! :)

    I gave up on this one, but Advanced Custom Fields is another alternative. I tried that one and it works well.

    Yeah I know that one too, but it's not the same in the pages backend, and for other people this one is easier to work with :)

    totally agree with you there! was a pain in the neck to setup too, but it worked for the stuff I needed - didn't EVER work for wysiwyg though, just text areas. But would be nice to get this plugin working properly, I do miss it!

    I found something better!! Magic Fields and it seems to work like a charm!

    I've used that one too, not bad, but there's no wysiwyg.

    Still looking for that wysiwyg custom field, so far, can't find any plugins that work with that one.

    Thing with the advanced custom field is that it all ends up in a dropdown, where the More Fields and the Magic Field actually supply extra fields to the backend, making it far more user friendly for the common user.
    Magic Field doesn't have a WYSIWYG, true, but it does have "Markdown Textbox" with H1 to H6, paragraphs and list items. Hopefully this is good enough. I love the way the plugin actually makes WordPress into a CMS by adding and grouping fields together and showing them user friendly in the backend :)

    I've been doing my best to continue supporting More Fields. I've been working hard on the WYSIWYG fields on my fork on GitHub.

    Any chance it fixes some of the issues you've been having with the "official" version of More Fields?

    @Danno040

    Thank you sooo much for the fork! It works fantastic. I tested with WP 3.3.1 and all this problems with loading JS are gone. Great work!
