[Plugin: Meteor Slides] meteor slides not at all behaving

I am playing around with it, just trying out a simple 2 image slideshow. As you can see, the second image is cutoff even though the slideshow’s dimensions are greater than the image size. I created the slideshow after the images were imported.

The paged buttons are not even there.

There must be a conflict with something else in my theme. Any ideas?
