Hi, is this effect for the NextGEN Gallery slideshow, or for one of the add-ons for NextGEN? Could you post a link with an example of this transition?
The transitions for Meteor Slides are powered by the jQuery Cycle Plugin, so I don’t have much control over the transitions. You can preview all of the transitions here.
i havent added any addons.
I thinks its there in nextgen by default. If the image size is big and slideshow (poweref by jw flash player) windows is small, then its showing a part of the image and slowly panning to reveal the rest like movie camera pan.
very cool effect
i found it !!
the option in nextgen is “Allow slow zooming effect”
if i enable this, then i get that slow pan effect, else if just shows the full images as slideshow
how can i have transparent background for PNG files?
I’ll check out the slow zooming effect and see if this Flash effect is something that could be recreated in jQuery.
You know, I have not tried transparent PNGs as slides, I will test that out and get back to you on that!
actually by having slight transparent edges or feathered edges, my slides will blend in more with the colour of the gallery and not look like patch work, as they r now.
also are the slides pre-loaded in the background? cause pngs of this size 750×150 can get pretty heavy- 200-300kb.
I tried a transparent PNG as a slide and it worked fine for me.
But it could depend on the nature of the slide and what it is being overlaid onto.
The slides are not preloaded, so I would take care not to make the file size too large.
If you are just trying to blend the slides into your background with a gradient or something, I’d suggest doing that in an image editor before adding the slides. This will give you a higher quality result, and then you can use JPG slides which will be much smaller in size.
ok. Thanks. What about the pan effect? Find something ofr it?
Haven’t had a chance to look into that yet, but I am hoping to extend the functionality of the plugin to enable custom transitions like this.
