# Plugin Broke Admin side

 * The Bulletproof Security Pro plugin “broke” (white screen) the entire admin side
   of the website (front end is fine). The BPS website has been down more than up,
   and I am having a very hard time getting any support there, so I am hoping someone
   here can help.
 * The BPS developer said to overwrite the files, but not the database. Unfortunately,
   this is a new site, and I backed up the database, but not yet the files (and 
   my host does not have a file backup, either). I cannot ask the developer any 
   more questions, because his site is down.
 * So, would downloading the WP/plugin files and overwriting them work??
 * Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!!

 * Try [manually resetting your plugins](https://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)(
   no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one
   individually until you find the cause.
 * If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via [FTP or SFTP](https://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients),
   navigate to `/wp-content/themes/` and rename the directory of your currently 
   active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-
   out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

 * The folks at BPS are extremely helpful, I use BPS Pro on my sites and it works
   great, never regretted installing it.
