Haha yeah, I happened to be working on it when I saw your post. Anyway, I think I finally got it figured out. It would show those errors if your site didn’t have any podcasts. I’ve fixed this in version 1.1.3. (It doesn’t display anything if there are no episodes) so let me know if you still have any problems after you upgrade.

My only suggestion upon initial glance is to not ignore posts without featured images (in my case, category 1 has only one post which doesn’t have a featured image so nothing displays). Instead, there should be some random/default featured image for posts without a featured image.

It should work fine on posts without featured images since there are several options for choosing a fallback image. (Plus the plugin comes with one if you don’t set a default at all)
The plugin currently ignores posts that don’t have an audio URL associated with it, usually provided by the PowerPress plugin. If there’s enough interest to use this with regular blog posts, I could add an option to include those. But for now, it’s really just meant for podcasts.
When using [message-flow numberposts=”5″ category=”1″], I see no content, even though there are 5 posts in that category (this post included, so 4 others). However, none of them have a featured image.
By reading the plugin’s description, I didn’t initially catch that it’s only for podcast items. I though it was for posts and/or podcasts. I think the current plugin description is more thorough, but I think you should specify the ‘ignored if no url’ logic on the description page.
I think this can benefit podcasters, but if you choose to make it so all posts/post types/featured images can be used, that’d be nice too.
