  • same problem here for videos… 🙁

    i found weird bug/feature with wordpress 🙂

highlight your whole shortcode including the [ and ] e.g.
    [audio src="http://yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/file.mp3"]

and change the formatting of that text, from whatever it is .e.g. paragraph
    to
    preformatted

once i did this, it worked fine on all browsers and ipad.
the bizarre second non working player disappeared.

    very weird i know!!!

I encountered this issue* after checking the “Load Script on Demand…” setting in the MediaElement.js general options. Deselecting this option resolved the issue.

Incidentally, the ‘preformatted’ suggestion above only shifted the position of the second player (for me).

*Issue: Redundant video players (both flash & silverlight) while viewing with IE8, WordPress v3.4.1 & MediaElement.js v2.9.1.

WOOOOOW thosemusicguys – that did it. Oh boy–I have tried EEEEEEEVERYTHING. Thank you so much. That IS the solution. However I am getting quite a bit of space above and below the player.
