  • bbpress- folder does not show up in the WP admin Plugin Manager (PM) page. I downloaded the Unzipped and uploaded the folder named “bbpress-” to the server wp-content\plugins folder. When PM did not show it, I deleted the folder on the server and reuploaded the subfolder folder and contents with the folder name “bbpress” (without the version name. PM still does not show it available to activate. I was not sure which folder to upload to the server since none of my other plugin folders had the version numbers.

  • Hi,

    Check with these options:

    – Permissions of wp-contents must be 766 recursively.
    – Disable all other plugins and have a check with this plugin..and enable plugin one by one to find out the culprit..

    Thanks Shane,

Was I correct in naming the folder on the server as “bbpress” without the version number?

    1. Where do I find “Permissions”, I don’t see it in WP admin or Plugin Manager?

    2. What does the number “766” mean?

    3. “Recursive” to me means repeating itself in different words. I’m not sure what you mean with that word.

    4. If I disable all plugins, I assume that all the settings for each will be saved when I eventually re-activate them?

    5. When you say “have a check with this plugin”, are you saying that bbPress may not be appearing on the Plugin Manager page list because one of the other activated plugins is keeping it from showing?

    Thanks so much.
