Support » Plugins and Hacks » Live Blogging » [Plugin: Live Blogging] Bug: Blackbird Pie conflicts with automatic updating

  • Hey there,

When automatic live blogging updates are set to “poll” (the default) – conflicts appear with the plugin “Blackbird Pie”.

Blackbird Pie allows you to embed specific tweets inside blog posts, something which is very useful when liveblogging events. The plugin does this through shortcodes, eg:

    [blackbirdpie id=”133072907701194752″]

The issues which arises is this:

When a blackbirdpie shortcode is embedded within a live blog entry, upon the first page load the tweet appears (correctly) – however when the ajax call runs to check for new entries, the embed breaks, and the shortcode appears in plaintext – not displaying the actual tweet.

So when you load the page for the first time – you see all embedded tweets, however after 25 seconds (or whatever the interval is set to) they all disappear and are replaced with plaintext shortcodes.

    Can you help? 🙂
