I got the same error. In addition, underneath the error it says:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare update_metadata() in /var/www/clients/clientX/webX/web/wp-content/plugins/keyword-statistics/keyword-statistics.php on line 165
It was a conflict with the function update_metadata added in WP 2.9. Now it should work…

After activation I noticed it does not work with languages other than English and probably German. Is there any way to make it active on other languages?
For now there are only english and german stopwords. Other languages may be integrated but i need the stopwords for it. Sorry, but i can’t insert stopwords for any language by myself… if you have a stopword-list i can add the language support. i’m planning to change the way the plugin handles the support of other languages.
I have to work on collecting the stopwords. It is a big task. How did you do it for English and German?
It’s only a list with frequently used words who can not be used to classify the content of the text. You may also find those wordlists by searching after it. But i can’t check these lists if i don’t understand the words. As an example you can look at the file stopwords.js. There you will find the ones used by the plugin. You can never say which of those are used by search engines but you can change them easily by editing the stopword-list in that file… By the way: if you change the words listed in the array (e.g. en for the english stopword-list) you can change them into your wanted language. set the language to ‘en’ and your wordlist will be used. It’s not beautiful… but it should work!
