[Plugin: JW Player for WordPress – Flash & HTML5 Video Player] Not an enhancement: jwplayer.js

    Hi Guys,

    Our website with handcode Video-tags and JW-integration just broke with the most recent upgrade. It seemed the ‘enhancement’ below does not work for all of us because some of us hand code/ use alternative ways to embed video and connect to the JW-player.

    Referring to:
    “ENHANCEMENT: jwplayer.js and swfobject.js now only loaded if a player is embedded on the page”

    Could you please make a toggle that one can switch on only if they need/like such’embed detection’? Or some other way so we can keep using this lovely plugin?

    Cheers!

    @sneakerpeet,

    That was a use case I hadn’t considered. I’ll definitely add in a toggle in the next version.

    Were you able to roll back successfully to 1.5.2?

    I apologize for the inconvenience.

    No harm done! We figured it out pretty soon.
    We didn’t roll back, but ‘hacked’ the include in the header for now. Looking forward to the next update. No rush, make it a good one 🙂

    @sneakerpeet,

    I’m glad you were able to get it rolled back alright. Thanks again for reporting this.
