[Plugin: jQuery Colorbox] How to show Description below image when using nextgen gallery

  • Hi I am using Colorbox with Nextgen gallery, the problem is that the description for each image (set within Nextgen) is not appearing when I open an image? Anyway I can fix that? Thanks

  • I’m also looking for a way to do this, thinking of a collapsible partially opaque div at the bottom which shows when a description is present in nextgen and can be minimised.

    After spending the better part of an hour working on this, I think I have hit on a solution! In my case, I wanted to use Colorbox for most images, but where I had set up NextGen galleries, I wanted to use the NextGen ThickBox effect, since this would display my descriptions.

    The good news is that it is very simple to do. All you need to do is go to the Effects tab of the NextGen options, and change the class to the following:

    class="thickbox colorbox-off" rel="%GALLERY_NAME%"

    The key was adding the colorbox-off class to the NextGen effect class.

    I hope this helps someone else!
