I’m new to WordPress, and just installed the colorbox plugin. I have a couple of questions I hope are fairly simple :
    1. I see how, on a page, I simply style a link with ‘colorbox-link’ and my job is done — all the necessary css and js scripts are added. However, I need to add the lightbox link (it opens an external URL) in an Enhanced Text widget. When I go to Appearance>Widgets and open the content for my widget I see there isn’t any GUI dropdown to add my style. If I simply add my link to the widget content :

    <a class="colorbox-link cboxElement" href="thesite">Show URL in Lightbox</a>

does WordPress know to add these scripts to the page?

    2. I wanted to modify a theme slightly. I’ve already tested my change and it just consists of a new graphic and some css modifications. Is there a way I can do this? Can I add a new theme and select it?

    Thanks for any help.

    1) Yes. As long as a link has the CSS-class “colorbox-link”, a colorbox is opened automatically when it is clicked.

    2) You’ll have to replace one of the existing themes, there is currently no way to add your own theme, sorry.

    Cheers,
    Arne
