jQuery Categories List Widget
[resolved] Categories widget interferes with Archive widget (7 posts)

I installed jQuery Archive List Widget, and it seemed to work perfectly, displaying years in descending order, with the current year expanded.

Then I installed Select jQuery Categories List Widget, and it seemed to work well, except that then the jQuery Archive List Widget started displaying with the last (earliest) year being expanded instead of the first (most recent) year being expanded.

I'm thinking there's some kind of conflict between these two plugins, perhaps storing their settings in the same spot? This seems possible since they were both developed by the same author.

Have both these plugins been tested running in the same sidebar on the same page?

I would really like to use these otherwise fantastic plugins if the conflict is removed.

    Thanks!

Note: I updated the first post a couple times to clarify what is happening.

Sorry for the delay, i'm the author of both plugins and use them in my website and i don't have the problem you do. Can you provide me your URL? i would like to check. I use both plugins in 2 sites and i don't have the problem. Maybe is a new bug that i don't know.

    No problem about the delay.

Well, I just set it all up again, and they're now working as expected. It must have been a temporary fluke. Perhaps another plugin I was testing at the time caused the issue. If it happens again, I'll probably have more of a notion what triggered it.

I just recalled that I upgraded to WordPress 3.3 between tests. Perhaps that has something to do with it. Just a wild guess.

OK, I've rediscovered the problem. It doesn't happen on the blog front page or single posts, but it appears on pages.

    Check out this page: http://www.webcommons.biz/webcommons-projects/

On the righthand side over half the way doen, you'll see the Archives list. 2009 is expanded even though 2011 should be.

What's odd is that this page was created in 2009 -- does that have something to do with it? At any rate, I want Archives to apply to posts, not pages.

Oh got it, i use WordPress for blogging but you're right. In next version (maybe this/next week) i'll add an option to apply to pages (default will be not on pages)
