[Plugin: JJ NextGen JQuery Carousel] Retain Image Ratio Using JJ NextGen Carousel

  • Hello,

I am using the JJ NextGen JQuery Carousel (on top of the NextGen Gallery plugin) and the images I’d like to use may have a dimension ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 etc. (e.g. square images 200×200, and rectangular images 200×100). Under the default settings/stylings the non-square images are squashed vertically, so that the widths are all equal. Instead I would like the heights to be equal, whilst retaining the original image’s ratio.

Is there something I should modify in the CSS, the plugin code, or perhaps both? As a note, when uploading images using the NextGen Gallery plugin, I believe the thumbnail creation is not working – I believe this may relate to the ‘GD Library’.

    Many thanks.

    Hey thebiganswer,

The only thing I can recommend at the moment that will work for you as to make all images the same size, if you have smaller images put them on a canvas the same size as the largest image.

Just saw this. Has there been any change in this? All of my images are the same height, but different widths. The designer does not want more space between each one., he want it equal. (I know, a pain)
