• WordPress version: 3.5.2
    JetPack version: 2.3.3

    I have just activated JetPack on a new blog, then I followed the link “Connect to WordPress.com” (wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack&action=register). It does not connect because after I click on the link the page has this message:

    WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query UPDATE wp_options SET option_value = ‘a:4:{s:7:\”version\”;s:16:\”2.3.3:1375477654\”;s:11:\”old_version\”;s:16:\”2.3.3:1375477654\”;s:28:\”fallback_no_verify_ssl_certs\”;i:0;s:9:\”time_diff\”;i:0;}’ WHERE option_name = ‘jetpack_options’ made by do_action(‘load-toplevel_page_jetpack’), call_user_func_array, Jetpack->admin_page_load, Jetpack::try_registration, Jetpack::register, Jetpack_Client::_wp_remote_request, Jetpack_Client::set_time_diff, Jetpack::update_option, Jetpack_Options::update_option, update_option

    I’ve never seen something like this before. Any ideas on how to fix it?

    Thanks!

    Before someone tells me to upgrade WP to latest version (3.6), it will be upgraded as soon as this issue is fixed. 😉
