I reinstalled and now get this message when trying ot connect to WP: * “Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. Or something to that effect. I’m so frustrated that I deleted the live chat conversation before copying it. * I’m just a hack blogger who is in way over my head. Fingers are pointing back and forth, and I do not have the knowledge or ability to discern who is right or wrong. * My best option now is to uninstall Jetpack (again), and try to find another service that will give me basic stats without having to jump through a lot of hoops. Jetpack has been uninstalled, and if I continue to learn of problems with Cloudflare, I’ll ditch that, too. We have dashboard. wordpress.com, jetpack.wordpress.com, and stats.wordpress.com, I believe, that all respond to requests from Jetpack, but they could be from any of our data centers or IP addresses. * In the testing I asked resistanceisfruitful to run above, our test suite indicated that PHP is configured in such a way that it could only spawn one process at a time. When Jetpack is initially connecting, it needs to have two processes spawned (one outgoing process, one incoming). This seems to be breaking the Jetpack connection process. * It also looks like HTTPS requests are being rejected entirely, which is not necessarily a problem. Jetpack tries to use either HTTP or HTTPS and both seem to be having issues currently. * Please let me know if I can help further.
