My “ShareDaddy” component of the WordPress “JetPack” plugin WILL NOT display at all on my WordPress (Arras theme version 1.5.0.1) web site.

I confirmed many times that it was configured properly on the ShareDaddy plugin component “Settings” page… even the “Live Preview” showed that it was configured correctly. The “Enabled Services” buttons (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Email, Print, etc.) will not appear on any of my posts, pages, or indexes.

Disabling the other Jetpack components (i.e. Twitter Widget, Gravatar Hovercards, etc.) did not correct the ShareDaddy problem. I even disabled the password protection for web site entry, but that did not resolve the problem either.

WHAT IS THIS CHECKBOX AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SETTINGS PAGE?
“Disable CSS and JS Advanced – you must include these in your theme for Sharedaddy to work”
NOTE: I know CSS is “Custom Style Sheets” and JS is “Java Script”. I have made a very few additions to my “user.css” file, but they only are for Arras theme color and font items.

WHAT CSS and JS code do I need to include in my “theme” (as stated in the checkbox option)?
I would definitely prefer to place the code (WHICH I NEED YOU TO PROVIDE) in my “user.css” file.

Repeated attempts have still failed even after saving settings and reloading web pages (MANY times), disabling the few other plugins that I use, clearing the browser cache, trying both Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers.

NO SUCCESS – MANY TECH SUPPORT RESOURCES TRIED:
I have spent many hours over many days trying to troubleshoot this… including searches in forums at WordPress.org, Arrastheme.com/forums, and the GoDaddy web site (which automatically includes Jetpack as part of their WordPress installation).

NOTE: I have also talked to GoDaddy.com Tech Support, but they DO NOT have any training on the WordPress application since it’s Open Source. (GoDaddy is fantastic otherwise.) My WordPress-based web site has always been hosted at GoDaddy.com so there is not a site transfer related problem occurring.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your prompt assistance! I REALLY need to get this resolved before going Live with my web site.

I am having the EXACT SAME problem, Arras theme.

I originally thought it was my Simple Twitter; Simple Facebook plugins so I disabled them but that did nothing.

The Advanced options seems like it may be the fix, but HOW do we use it?

I’ve hacked it up, you can create a function in the Arras theme functions.php file with a nearly identical function from the Sharedaddy service class file. I posted how I did it on my blog

Circuitbomb.com – Adding Jetpack Sharedaddy to the Arras Theme

Its not much and might be a bit of a dirty hack, but my buttons are in my posts now. 😉

    Hello,

I cannot use sharedaddy either with arras theme. I am running latest versions.

Is there any update about this subject? Any recommendation about another plugin that contains the same feature?

    Thank you,

    Igor
