[Plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com] Jetpack Shortcode Embed Module Conflicts with Core [embed] shortc

  • Running 3.3.2 with Twenty Elevent, Jetpack, and some other plugins I have the following in the body of a Page:

    [embed widget="200"]{YouTube Video URL}[/embed]

When Jetpack is disabled, this works as expected. When the Shortcode Embeds module is disabled, this works as expected. With the Shortcode Embeds module enabled, the video assumes the content width.

    Is this supposed to happen?

  • Jetpack’s embed shortcodes predate the built in embed shortcode, and so probably haven’t been updated to work with it very well.

My advice would be to just disable the JP shortcodes and use the built in embed. It works better, IMO.
