[Plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com] Jetpack disables WPStats and Hides Visual Editor Tools

  • I installed Jetpack – got it to work great and then realized I could not use my visual editor tools.I deactivated Jetpack- visual editor tools are back online but now my regular wp-stats will not authorize my wordpress.com user name to work on my server.

  • I had the same problem… Jetpack causing the visual editor to not work.

The cause of the problem, in my case, was that I had WP installed in one directory, but had a symlink set up pointing to that directory. The symlink path/url was what was set in my WP options.

I renamed my WP directory and deleted the symlink and that fixed the problem.

    In other words…

    Before fix:-
    /wp – wordpress directory
/mysite -> wp (symlink to wordpress directory, originally created with ln -s wp mysite)

    After fix:-
    /mysite – wordpress directory

    mark.
