  • I would like to see the support for CAPTCHA or reCAPTCHA… It would be great if the developers can add this feature.

    Currently there is not an easy way to edit the message after an email is sent. We are reworking the contact form and it may become more easy in the future.

    There are no plans to integrate captchas. All submissions through the contact form are submitted to Akismet to be spam checked before they are actually delivered.

    Why not a CAPTCHA option if Akismet doesn’t have a free option for commercial use ( https://akismet.com/signup/ )?

    We run the Jetpack Contact Form through an Akismet check whether you have a subscription or not. You’d need to get the Akismet subscription if you want your comments checked, as well.

    Oooh, that’s cool! Thanks for the insight. 🙂

    @tim
    That’s all well and good but I just put up my contact form on Friday and already I’ve begun to get bogus messages. Perhaps Akismet should be a secondary spam filter?

    @tim Moore, you said that:

    We run the Jetpack Contact Form through an Akismet check whether you have a subscription or not.

    And the following message states that you need to have Akismet installed:
    Jetpack documentation

    Does it mean that you need to have the API key as well? Or will it filter your messages for Contact Form anyway?

    I’d just like to know if it’s possible to use this Contact Form on commercial projects without purchasing Akismet license.

    All submissions through the contact form are submitted to Akismet to be spam checked before they are actually delivered.

    Even when Akismet is not installed?

    I have started getting a lot of spam emails through my Jetpack contact form (28 in the last 24 hrs) and Akismet is installed and catching spam comments. I will set aside my mystification at what the originators expect to achieve. Has anyone found a way to stop this or do I need to abandon Jetpack contact form for one that allows me to use a Captcha?

    If Akismet is installed and catching the Spam, you shouldn’t need a Captcha.

    If, however, Akismet is not catching the Spam submissions, you can contact the Akismet team here:
