Support » Plugin: Jayj Quicktag » [Plugin: Jayj Quicktag] Need support for more complex tags

  • Resolved Mugsy

    As of WP3.3, adding/editing Quicktags is no longer a simple matter. And I’ve always modified my toolbar to simplify my editing, adding buttons for “center” and non-breaking spaces. For this, JayJ works great.

    But I also need quicktag buttons that prompt for parameters then adds those switches to the tag (for instance, an FLV button that prompts for video size and thumbnail image.)

    The ability to sort and even remove/hide existing unnecessary tags would also be great.

  • Hello.

    Thanks for the feedback. But that out of the scope of this plugin, in my opinion. My goal is to make it as simple as possible

    But I’ve worked on something for you that will give you a video button with prompts for parameters

    It’s not perfect and you should change it to fit your exact needs

    It can be added to the plugin. If you do so, add it after the foreach loop around line 320

    Hope that helps you 🙂

    Thanks for the mod Jesper, but I’m getting errors when I try to add it to your script.

    I inserted the new code as the last function just above the “add_action” call at the bottom of your script, but when I try to activate it, it gives me an error on the first line of your new code.

    I’ll examine it this evening and see what’s needed to get it working. Thanks.

    This is the whole file

    Installed new full file w/o error, but when I go to edit the settings, it says “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

    I’m the Admin. I installed it. 🙂

    UPDATE: Looked at script. Was expecting the name: “jayj_quicktag.php”. Renamed it and it allowed me in.

    My edit to work with “FLV Embed” plugin:

    // Start start
    this.tagStart = '[flv:' + src + ' ' + thumbnail + ' ' + width + ' ' + height + ']';

    Removed remaining “If”s in function. Not needed in this instance.

    If you want to seperate your code from the plugin so you can update without losing the button, you can create a new plugin

    I think this will work
