  • Yeah I don’t understand where those <p> tags come from. I disabled all plugins but they are still there. I might need to hard code in something similar into single.php. It still does it with [jamiesocial] shortcode and with automatic showing..

    Thanks!

    Hello,
    I did the upgrade on another site and it works properly! The basic theme is Twentyeleven .. I think there is really a problem of compatibility issues, see if I can fix!
    hello and good work 🙂

    Hi giampietro
    Let me know if you need any help, or if you want me to run any tests let me know – what theme are you using?
    @dorimedia
    ok this is not a complete fix, more of a sticky plaster while I investigate further
    in the stylesheet if you add (probably my plugin stylesheet would be best) :

    ul#jamie_social p {
        display: inline-block;
        margin: 0;
        padding: 0;
    }

    this will make everything sit in one line, are you using the same theme on both sites? What theme/s and plugins are using, what plugins are you using? have you tried switching to Twenty ten/eleven theme and the same issue?

    Legend, thanks for that. Yeah same theme on both sites, the theme is called Gonzo from Themeforest. No I haven’t tried switching to one of those themes, I’ll do that tonight when there is less traffic to the site.

    Thanks!!

    Worked for picpuffin.com, but didn’t work with the google + button for invisiblegentleman.com.

    Any idea about what may cause this?

    Thank yo so much!

    Hi analuciadacruz
    On invisiblegentleman.com I take it that you have checked to show google plus, sorry if i am stating the obvious, but cannot think of reason why it will work on one but not the other.
    Will investigate further, should be releasing update this weekend if all goes well to fix these issues. Will I be able to send you a copy to test, I will include you as a contributor for this plugin, email me what email I should send it to to avoid posting email address here and you getting spammed,

    Already updated! on both websites the google + button just doesn’t appear anymore! That happened after he update! I tried to turn it off and on but it didn’t work!

    Thanks martini boy!

    Hi analuciadacruz
    Would you be able to show me the code in your footer.php if you click on the pinterest button, that is not working on your sites either, no script code is being pulled into your footer, as it should be.
    I have tried on lots of domains trying to replicate what you are experiencing but to no avail, so not sure how to correct it. If you can show me the code in the footer.php I will see if I can see anything.
    I will get to the bottom of this, eventually

    Here is my footer.php:

    <div id=”footer”>
    <div id=”copyright”>© picpuffin 2012 </div>
    </div>
    </html>

    Hi analuciadacruz
    I see what the problem is, or one of many. To begin with you do not have a closing body tag, also for a WordPress theme to work you need to add <?php the_footer(); ?>, a lot of plugins use this function so it is an important part of creating themes. Below is the code which should be in your footer.php, I have not checked through the site to see if any other elements have not been closed, but if you add this it should sort out the problem you are experiencing, if you are unsure it is best to seek advice, which I am happy to do if you mail me.

    <div id="footer">
    <div id="copyright">&copy; picpuffin 2012</div>
    </div>
    <?php the_footer();?>
    </body>
    </html>

    Any problems give me a shout, and as always when you amend theme files always make a back up first

    Hi martini boy!

    footer replaced.. still the same problem!
    I have never had issues with the footer, even with other plugins and believe me, i’m using a lot of them like contact form, like blog in blog and so on.

    I don’t think that the problem is related to the footer.

    So feedback of the problems related:
    – google + button don’t show up
    – pin it button doesn’t work
    – likes counter shows different number either you are inside a post or on the front page of the blog

    I’m making some changes on the website and I will try to see if I can get everything to work. But right now it’s being hard to find the solution!

    Looking at your source code properly and putting your site through the W3C validator you have a lot of errors, I do not see an opening or closing body tag on picpuffin.com and invisiblegentleman.com has mis placed closing divs.
    Your theme needs <?php wp_footer();?> in the footer.php because that is one of the most essential theme hooks, according to the WordPress Codex check out my blog post which may help.
    I may be wrong but you have been lucky that you have not had any issues with other plugins, looking at earlier posts you said that you were using the imbalance theme the code in that footer.php is :

    <div id="footer">
            	<div id="copyright">&copy; <?php the_time(__('Y')) ?> <?php bloginfo('name'); ?>. All Rights Reserved.</div>
              <div id="credits">Powered by WordPress. Designed by <a href="http://wpshower.com/">WPSHOWER</a></div>
            </div>
        </div><!--this one is extra probably closing the main wrapper-->
    <?php wp_footer(); ?>
    </body>
    </html>

    Which has an extra closing div than your code that you showed me, it may be worth downloading the imbalance theme and just checking your files with thhe newly downloaded theme, just to correct any unclosed divs – but definately check the header and footer and add the body tag, let me know if this does not resolve your issue

    Martini boy!
    A lot of the errors mentioned on the W3C are not truly errors, just things like adding the value “none” to a background-color, for instance, instead of giving it a color code. I don’t see this kind of things causing problems and i’m trying to delete them as I’m not giving a color anyway.

    I changed both header and footer, and replace the original div, also check for the body tag, but still not working.

    I’m trying to figure out what can I do to solve this.
    I truly appreciate your kind support!

    Hi analuciadacruz
    ok something strange is happening on the picpuffin site, from the imbalance theme there is an opening div with an id of outer on your theme the body has an id of outer and the div starts and closes within the body tag. Those were the errors that I was meaning from the W3C validation everything seems to be interlinked and mixed up, by all means deactivate my plugin if you believe that is causing the problems, if you want me to help you out let me know, if you want to put the code of the header.php here I will take a look, a second pair of eyes may help.

    No no no!
    I didn’t say your plugin is causing problems! Never ever..
    It’s not working properly but that’s something i’m experiencing and it doesn’t mean it’s something about you plugin, maybe it’s really my website code that is messing everything!
    That’s why I told you i’m looking at what I can to try to make it work!
