    Hi – unfortunately, the Plugin isn’t working on my site with Default Settings ?

    The Default Settings as described on link below, broke my site.

    Tutorial

    The Wizard isn’t working either.

    I plugged in the Username & GTMetrix APi Key, but did’nt return any GTMetrix Test results ?

    What other options can I try ?

    It seems to be working for others.

    In case of the wizard not working (it depends on AJAX requests from your browser to your server + API requests from your server to GTmetrix so a lot can go wrong), the safest starting point is using “defer” and excluding jQuery from that.

    Try to take it from there and keep an eye on the browser console for JS errors?

    Thanks for the prompt update.

    Below is the screenshot of the new settings.

    End Result:

    The Plugin has resolved the Defer parsing of JavaScript issue (GTMetrix A(100)), but the Home Page is completely broken.

    As you can see from the screenshot, none of the Elements are loaded.

    so when the homepage is broken like that, what JS errors do you see on the browser console?

    “jquery is not defined” seems to imply jquery is not excluded somehow? what other optimization plugins are you using (if any)?

    I have 3 Optimisation Plugins installed:

    Fast Velocity Minify
    WP Super Cache
    SG Optimizer

    The culprit was Fast Velocity Minify, which after de-activating, resolved the ‘Defer parsing of JavaScript’ issue.

    The site loads perfectly well on the front-end with ‘No’ JS errors on the Console.

    OK, you would probably be able to keep FVM (it’s a real good plugin) if you exclude jquery from its JS optimization, but on the other hand do make sure that you don’t have both SGO & FVM doing JS (or CSS) minification because that too could cause problem.
