Support » Plugin: WP Super Cache » Plugin is not supported in

  • Hi,

    My site is hosted at

When I search for WP Super Cache, it shows it as “Not Supported”. I also downloaded the zip separately, installed it, and then it got disabled with this message:

“The use of WP Super Cache can interfere with Pressable caching, which is automatically provided for this site. WP Super Cache has been deactivated.”

    What should I do?

    Thank you

    Hi Felipe!

I work at Pressable. Many managed WordPress hosts, including Pressable, have built-in high-performance caching. The bottom line is, you don’t need WP Super Cache as long as your host includes caching. In your case, the built-in caching does more than a caching plugin would.

Plugins like WP Super Cache are important for self-hosted or non-managed WordPress sites (on hosts like Digital Ocean). Your Pressable sites also have other performance features, including MaxCDN and load balancing, built in. You can learn more about Pressable’s performance features on this article:

    Hi Felipe,

Bradly here from Pressable Customer Success! Based on the error message you received, it seems that your site is hosted at Pressable.

As Pressable already offers object and server-side caching out-of-the-box, WP Super Cache conflicts with our offering.

Object caching is on by default, and you can activate server-side caching (and the CDN) by enabling production mode on your site. See this article from our knowledgebase for more information.

    Hi guys,

Thanks very much for the information. I wasn’t aware that it was hosted on Pressable, to be honest! 🙂

I am seeing some really bad performance on my website using pagespeed and some others, so was trying to install some caching plugin.
I wasn’t aware I had to turn production mode manually, so I will have a read through the link given by @jeffmulholland.
