Support » Plugin: Contact Form DB » plugin is missing on the wordpress.org directory

  • Hi,

I couldn’t download the plugin and it doesn’t find it in the “add new” tab inside wordpress!!?

It looks like a wordpress.org problem?

maybe you as an author can check what happened to your plug-in?

    thanks
    d.

Same here, I installed it in a website, but today it doesn’t show on the WordPress plug-in directory.

The plugin is de-listed form the plugin repositories. I guess the author need to meet some requirements to get listed again.

Yes, WP wants me to fix a potential security vulnerability, so it is temporarily delisted.

    Success Michael 🙂

I liked it quite a bit. Hope you can get it fixed soon and listed again, Michael.

    Hello, Michael.
    How long might take?

    hi there,

I was looking into it yesterday, and I was about to install it now 🙂
hope you can fix it soon as it looks pretty good.
    Good luck Michael!

I’ll try to get this addressed in a week. I’m a bit swamped with a lot of things going on at the moment.

    Dear Michael,

Is there any chance we can have a temporary link of the current version until you get it fixed to meet wordpress requirements?

    Thank you in advance.

    Michael –

DM me in WordPress.Org slack (Shelob9) or email me Josh@CalderaWP.com if you need help getting this fixed right away. Many Caldera Forms users rely on your plugin and I’d like to see this back online and fixed as soon as possible.

    Take care,
    Josh

I’m publishing releases here now: https://github.com/mdsimpson/contact-form-7-to-database-extension/releases

The WP person is very condescending and unprofessional and is really rubbing me the wrong way. I’m happy to address any issues and meet any standards, but I’m at the limit of my patience. I try to be a good citizen and give back to the community. I’ve put in countless hours for close to seven years now. When I’m treated like this, it seems WP doesn’t value me or my contribution to its community.

Anyway, I put the code on GitHub and I will continue to support it. But at this point I’m not sure I want to deal with people like this to re-list the plugin on this site. I don’t need the frustration.

    Hi Michael,

In understand your frustration. Looks like they forget that many contributors have a full time job. I think I would do the same 🙂
Thanks for providing such a good work!

    Hi Michael,

I too can understand your frustration but I’m wondering if there is anything the community can say/do to encourage you and your plugin back to the WordPress directory. I’m guessing it’s a bit late because you have already made the move to Github but there are so many good reasons for getting it back I felt it was worth asking the question again.

Of course you owe the community nothing at all after all your hard work but if you were able to reconsider then I’m sure many thousands of users would appreciate it.

For those people that rely on the WordPress update mechanism for keeping other people’s plugins secure and up-to-date this is really the only future proof solution. My own process is a long way-off from being 100% git-ready and I’m guessing that’s true for the majority of website owners.

Whatever you decide, all the best and thanks for a great plugin.
