Support » Plugin: blueimp lightbox » Plugin installed and activated, but not working

  • Resolved John O

I have installed this plugin and activated it, setting it to automatically convert WP galleries into Bluimp galleries, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

Viewing source I get lots of blueimp markup outputted at the bottom of the page, it just doesn’t replace my default WP gallery.

I can get the non-WP version of the plugin working by hard-coding things into the template, so am not sure where I am going wrong.

Any help greatly appreciated. It’s a great plugin and would love to use it on a project I am working on.

  • Make sure you have link=”file” in your gallery shortcode, e.g. [gallery link="file" ids="1,2,3,4"]

Sorry for delay in replying – yes, the gallery shortcode is correct – as follows:

    [gallery link="file" ids="172,171,184"]

    Still doesn’t work.

I don’t know what you guys are talking about. I inserted [gallery link="file" ids="18,17,16,14,13,12,11"] and it does not work.

I can’t give support on any WP gallery plugins, as the blueimp-lightbox plugin simply provides lightbox functionality.
However it should automatically display all image links (gif, jpg, jpeg, png by default) in the blueimp Gallery style

Please note that blueimp Gallery is the name of the JS plugin used in the blueimp-lightbox WP plugin:

The blueimp-lightbox WP plugin itself does not provide Gallery functionality for WordPress, but should work seamlessly with a variety of WP Gallery plugins.

So how/what needs to be done to get it to work? I’m not a programmer that’s why I chose a plugin. Seems logical that a WP plugin called “lightbox” would at the minimum at a lightbox to the default WP Gallery.

It’s working for me using NextGen/NextCellent but not with a simple gallery post. And it does work very nicely.

Can you please make a suggestion how this is supposed to work with WP Gallery?

I’ve released a new version (1.1.0) which enables support for the default WP Galleries.

How to enable the lightbox functionality for default WordPress galleries?
In the Gallery settings, set the “Link To” option to “Media File”.

If the automatic activation feature does not work, make sure the following is correct:
    If you go to
The “Automatic activation” setting should be enabled by .
The “Media types” setting should contain “gif, jpg, jpeg, png” by default, which applies the automatic activation to all links to the listed image files.
