# Plugin Installation Failed

 * I try to install the latest version and it fails.
 * I need to know why.
 * **Here is what I see:**
 * “Downloading install package from
    [https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/woocommerce-gateway-simplify-commerce.1.0.2.zip…](https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/woocommerce-gateway-simplify-commerce.1.0.2.zip…)
 * Unpacking the package…
 * Installing the plugin…
 * Destination folder already exists. /home2/mccreat2/public_html/wp-content/plugins/
   woocommerce-gateway-simplify-commerce/
 * Plugin install failed.”
 * Can someone help please?

 * First, although none of these steps should threaten or affect any of the data
   or settings on your site, I recommend backing up your site just to be 100% safe.
 * Next, are you comfortable using FTP? If so, use that (or if your host offers 
   CPanel, use the File Manager) to go to to /wp-content/plugins/ and delete the
   entire “woocommerce-gateway-simplify-commerce” directory. When this is done, 
   you’ll be able to install the latest version fresh.

 * Thanks for the quick response!
 * I’m new to running a website on WordPress. I did backup my site. How do I access
   FTP? I tried looking and I don’t think my host offers CPanel.

 * I recommend checking your hosting provider’s support documentation or asking 
   them about a File Manager option that allows you to access files on your hosting
   plan without installing an FTP client.
 * If they don’t have a file manager tool, [this page at WordPress.org](https://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients)
   introduces you to FTP (and also suggests some other online File Manager options
   that different hosts offer).
