# Plugin install failed

 * Hi, I facing this error after my domain expired and renew it
    It showing there
   is no plugin installed, but with cPanel all the previous plugin folders is there
 * Here is the error with one which I don’t install it before
 * Installing Plugin: W3 Total Cache 0.9.4.1
    Downloading install package from [https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/w3-total-cache.0.9.4.1.zip…](https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/w3-total-cache.0.9.4.1.zip…)
   Unpacking the package… Installing the plugin… Could not create directory. /var/
   sites/a/*******/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/ Plugin install
   failed. Return to Plugin Installer

 * just the domain has expired or the hosting as well? Are you sure that the path
   is still the same?If you have setup your new hosting with a different username
   this can be the problem. Check even the permission of the wp-content folder

    Yeas only the domain was expired, I don’t change hosting not sure
   about the path! who to do it?
 * the permission of the wp-content folder is 777 and I try 755 still same error

 * Hey there,
 * Try adding **“define(‘FS_METHOD’, ‘direct’); “** to your wp-config.php, without
   double quotes. Hope it helps.

    I try with some but can’t be install even themes The permission now
   set to 777
 * everything was fine before domain expired

    still plugin folder has installed plugin and non of them showing 
   in WP admin

 * OK the hosting was update the cPanel and they rename the plugin folder without
   informing me, now it’s working fine
