Unwanted break (5 posts)

    Hi Josh,

The plugin is great but I can't figure out how to stop it creating a line break after the end of each popup shortcode. I've tried using h4 tags to no effect and am at a loss as to how to resolve this.

    Any ideas?

Go to HTML view in your editor, and remove any linebreaks there.

I've been working in the html editor. There are no linebreaks in the html as I'm trying to have the popup code in the middle of a sentence. Even if I delete all the spacing there is no difference. Seems that the closing code for the shortcode inserts its own break somehow.

    hi ndoro6,

Sorry for the delayed response. If you read through the other support thread I offer some tips on hacking the plugin. You're on the right track; the solution probably lies in monkeying with the part of the plugin that actually prints the html and css --- the main plugin file.

It could also be that your theme is causing the problem. Have you tried temporarily switching themes to see if you get the same problem?

The truth is that this plugin needs a complete overhaul. This was my first plugin and I've since built several others for a couple of different clients --- have much more experience now. I plan on completely reworking it --- for example video embeds will be supported in the next version.

I've just run into this problem myself--a student of mine tried the plugin on the Twenty Eleven theme. I'm not sure why the extra breaks don't occur on your demo site. Is there an ETA for the new version?
