  • Yes, you can, but isn’t recommended – you will not achieve better performance, but negative effect.

That’s is not correct. Hyper Cache Ext and DB Cache Reloaded Fix work great together. They do totally different things and in fact are recommended in combination.

My recommendation is not to use them in combination.
Making cache of cache isn’t so great idea.

    On the contrary!!!

Yes you can use both Hyper Cache Ext and DB Cache Reloaded Fix, as a matter of fact this is the best way for best results.

There have been an extended benchmarking concerning this which you can find it in this address:

As a matter of fact the “Hyper Cache Ext and DB Cache Reloaded Fix” is a a great combo. Combined (if you look in the benchmark above) they give you the fastest result of all cache plugins.

mlazarov thank you for reviving this great plugin (been using it for ages), but please do take a look in the link, you will be pleasantly suprised.

tempor, i don’t see benchmarking for HCE + DB Cache (or DB Cache Reloaded ).

There is just one line which says “Combining some of the plugins can lead to an increase in performance such as Hyper Cache + DB Cache Reloaded. Although some combinations will greatly decrease performance such as WP Super Cache + Anything. Try combining and see what works for you.”

Also have in mind that different cache plugins have different impact: cpu, memory ram, not just the speed.

if you scroll down in the link I gave you under the subject “Final Results” you will find this mention:

“Overall the best out of the box cache plugin configuration in my opinion is: Hyper Cache + DB Cache Reloaded.”

I totally agree with you concerning combining other cache plugins but please keep in mind that “DB cache reloaded” is a plugin that caches database querys and Hyper Cache, as I know, stores rendered pages. These are two completelly different cache functions which supplement each other.

Plus, more people agreeing with the Hyper Cache + DB Cache combo: Here, here and here.
