Support » Plugin: HTML5 jQuery Audio Player » [Plugin: HTML5 jQuery Audio Player] Why is it all crammed together?

  • Hello EnigmaWeb,

I love you plugin (don’t mind the haters). It’s a really nice alternitve to all the junk out there. I am trying to build a really professional site for this up and coming group, but they don’t want to use soundcloud or a commercial platform.
I am really trying to make your plugin work, once I know it will, I am going to buy the pro version.

Right now it, for some reason is like all crammed together. I have it on a full width page but it still is like piling up. Can you help?

    Thanks a Million!

Hi Joshua, thanks for the positive feedback. 🙂 And cool site.

I took a look at your site – I think there is some css in your theme that’s mucking with the styling in the plugin style.css You could use firebug or some other debugger to try to find the problem and do a work-around in the theme css. This would be the best solution, but if you can’t do that, then you could jump in and edit the css in the plugin files themselves. Actually you’ll fix this problem just by increasing the width of the player. It’s currently 370px…. anything over 400px looks like it will fix the squishy problem on your site! ;-p It’s line 5 in plugins/html5-jquery-audio/includes/css/style.css if that helps.

In next major release I’ll be having a bit more customisation options (like set custom width) so hopefully this will improve issues like this for all users and give everyone a bit more creative control.

    Hope this helps.

PS If you like this plugin please give it a rating –> Thanks!

    Hello again EnigmaWeb,

You plugin is actually quite beautiful, which is surprising for a WordPress plug. Has major potential!! Congrats. I’ll be sure to give you a good rating… and ultimately some good feed back once I get it all working.

I was thrilled to see the quick reply for some support. I did it and it worked super easily. Now I am good to go.
If it was my site I’d buy it right away then mess with the details but I can’t spend someone else’s money before know for sure it will work… so I have one more question.

I was testing this on my iPhone and it seemed that once I hit play, the song kept playing on every page, making it rather eventually annoying… even when I closed Chrome. If this is a fluke, glitch, so be it. My only concern is obviously, this would eventually be problematic. Particularly when there are multiple playlists on multiple pages. Do you have a solution for this?

Thank so much for your valuable time. I look forward to using this plugin on all my sites and future projects.

Also, I just thought of the other thing I wanted to ask, while I am at it then that will be all.

Is there anyway to make the small Play, Skip Forward and Skip Backward buttons larger?

Cool, glad you got it working.

Yep you can increase size of the buttons or customise the styling of the player in the same file you did the width adjustment. You could upload different button graphics or use the existing ones just a bit smaller.

The problem with continuous play on iPhone hasn’t been reported before and I can’t replicate it myself now… can you let me know what version of iOS you’re using and maybe give it another try and see if you can make it happen again or whether it was a glitch?

    Thanks! 🙂

    Okay,

Very cool I have spent the day customizing the look and sizing of your plug in and have been very happy with getting it exactly how I want it. See: http://www.ancientboom.com/music

Now I officially love it. Thank you.

As you can see, I wanted to use the stars for the track area too (more universally recognized than the bars for a rating system, I think) I was almost successful but for some reason cannot (for anything) get rid of the bottom five. UGH! tried real long on that one. Any Ideas?

Also, one last main questions (I guess I lied when I said that would be all, sorry.):
What is the best way to set up the downloading option? Right now, the only way I could get the computer to open the browser to save the file immediately (which is what I need) is to zip each mp3 file and up the url where you say in the settings. I don’t really like this because then the user has to unzip each download (tacky). Also it does not work on Iphone. Is there any way to do this succesfully?

Thank you so very much. I know your time is valuable and I really appreciate it.

    Big fan.

    Hi Joshua…

Stars look cool – I might try to integrate the stars as an option for users which I think people will like. I can’t see exactly what the problem is sorry – prob just a matter of checking your code.

The download link is just a plain old link field and it is set as target=_blank – so it should work for any file type. I can’t replicate this issue on my test site so perhaps something specific on your site – maybe something caused by your customisations?
