It’s not really designed to work best within sidebar widget, but you can give it a try and see if it works ok with your theme.

You can use the shortcode to embed in a text widget, or you can put this code directly into your theme or code: <?php wp_hmp_player(); ?>

Thanks. I tried it it works.

So I have the player installed and it does work in both posts and pages.

However the shortcode does not work in a text widget.

Also the snippet <?php wp_hmp_player(); ?> fails to render anything either when placed in the theme files.

Any idea where lies the conflict?

If it helps, here is a link to the page:

The player has been hardcoded in the sidebar after <ul id=”sidebar”>, using this snippet: <?php wp_hmp_player(); ?>

It’s clearly trying to do something as I see it in the page source view. But nothing’s rendering in the browser. Any clues? I really appreciate any assistance you can offer.

You can use this plugin, it is working
    Use Shortcodes in Sidebar Widgets

    My url:

Im having the same problem with the free version I tried everything here but I cant get it to show up in the txt widget with using the above link to the plugin that enables you to post shortcodes in the sidebar widget area you will see on the right hand side where it says beats but no player
