That ability should be in both the plug-in and the theme.
The theme came first, but realized from contacts that people with existing themes wanted what i was offering, but didn't want to start over, so I pushed it all into a plug-in too.
So, depends on where you are in life, I guess.
Also, recently updated functionality so both can work together, so you could have both (there are a couple items that the theme approval process wouldn't let me include, where the plug-in would, so, that also might be a good reason to have both).
Please note that having both will give two BP Admin screens, and that the plug-in will override any settings on the theme's admin page...
