I have installed Rank SEO and that has solved the problem for now, thank you.
Always happy when someone solves their own problem, but I’m curious what you are using to share on facebook that was ending up like that. If you ran into it someone else probably will too.
Hi James, our site uses a combination of events manager and woocommerce to create sales events. When we link to the sales event facebook picks up the og description as the shopping basket expiry message, but now, looking at it more critically I suspect that it’s the widget sidebar that is doing the hijacking. My web designer suggest it was your plugin but I see the wording is identical to that on the sidebar.
Thanks so much for checking !!
What plugin/theme is generating these og:description?
I’m using Flatsome and Woo sidebars (which also does the footers) (woocommerce plugin). It’s the footer line 2 that generates the description. That makes no sense at all to me. I also must say that I am not the designer, but the owner, trying to find her way around all of this, when the designer is not available to help.
Without seeing the code that is outputting the “og:description”, I’m not really going to have any way of knowing what is going on here.
It’s the facebook debugger that produces the above description.

you put in your url that you want to share and it tells you what the share will look like on FB.But like I said, I’m sure it’s the woo sidebar plugin that is producing the error and not your plugin.
I see now, I assumed you were using a plugin to generate the Open Graph tags.
I don’t know what facebook is looking for but if you want to control what they are showing you should be explicitly setting that meta tag, either via a plugin or some custom code.
I’m certain this has nothing to do with the cart stock reducer plugin. I assumed your “Your shopping basket will expire after 10 minutes, and you will have to start again if you haven’t gone to the checkout.” text was from the plugin but it appears that, like you said, it’s from the footer/widget.
