Support » Plugin: Grunion Contact Form » [Plugin: Grunion Contact Form] Add to every post by default

  • Resolved do77

I like the functionality of the plugin and I would like to add the contact form to each post by default so that message can be send directly to the author of the post.

I tried to add it to the template file single.php using do_shortcode but it does not seem to work. The form would not show up.

Is there any other way to include the form with each post? I would appreciate your responses!

Interesting idea, something we haven’t tested Grunion for. Just be sure, you are using version 2.1 right?

You may end up needing to hook into an action to make this work, in part to ensure that the plugin has loaded.

    Hi Joseph,

thanks for your response. Yes, I am using version 2.1. Not sure how I would hook into an action … do you have a starting point for me? Just a link where I can read about that. That would be great!

Sorry, I mis-spoke in my original reply, that should have been “something we haven’t tested for”.

I’ve been thinking about this more and there is another challenge. Grunion interacts with the post_id of each post. By directly injecting it at after each post, Grunion has no idea what the post_id is.

The more I think about this the more it falls into the category of doable, but probably going to involve more hacking than it is worth (on Grunion internals). A more basic contact form plugin would probably be a better fit, something that doesn’t expect to interact directly with the post_id.

Ok, thanks Joseph! I will try to find another plugin that let’s me achieve what I am trying to do.
