Support » Plugin: Gravity Forms Salesforce Add-on » [Plugin: Gravity Forms Salesforce Add-on] Lead Source Details

  • Hi, We are using Gravity Forms v1.6.1 and the add on plugin v1.1.2 on our WordPress 3.3.1 site.

We have numerous forms on our website which are all linked to Salesforce and when a visitor completes the form, a lead record is created in Salesforce which is great. The problem we are facing is that the lead record is no longer tagged with the Lead Source Details that Salesforce automatically adds. When this is working the lead source details is created as an Activity History record against the Lead and shows how the user found the website, which keyword they used etc..

To prove that there is no problem with the website or how Salesforce is setup, I simply created a webtolead form in Salesforce, copied and pasted it into a test page on the wordpress site and published the page. I then completed the form on the website and the lead appearEd in and the lead source details were populated correctly.

Therefore my question is, why does the Gravity Form with the Salesforce Add-On not allow the Lead Source Data to be parsed to Salesforce? This is a problem that I cannot figure out so any help would be much appreciated.

  • You should be able create a field called lead source on the gravity form and use the ID for that source as created by the web to lead form. So create a field in salesforce with the lead source, then create a web to lead form, then copy the ID, then add the ID to the admin label for the field in the Gravity Form.

I noticed the forms aren’t passing any values as of the 21st – still testing it, but something was updated.

Were you able to specify the lead record type or just create a lead record?. If so, can you check out my screenshot to see if I have it set up right? I’ve tried different casings of recordtype and variable settings…

Can you please elaborate on how to “use the ID for that source as created by the web to lead form.”

In my Salesforce Web to Lead form, I have different sources in Picklist.
