  • Thanks GPP for the great plugin. This is (almost) exactly what I’ve been looking for.

    There are two things that would be very helpful:

    Custom Shortcode: I use the standard [gallery] a lot in my blog to display large collections of images formated to fit my blog in a single column. But my portfolios is where I want to use GPP Slideshow. It would be great to have a way to call call GPP Slideshow only when I want to use it. Like [gpp_slideshow] or [gpp_gallery]

    Display Full Images (this may be a bug): I upload images for my portfolio at exactly the full width size (950px), so that way I can optimize the images in quality and sharpness. When you do this, WordPress doesn’t create the Large image reference. It creates Thumb, Medum, and Full. So, on the settings page, it would be great if the dropdown included and option to select and display the Full Image.

    Hey Lincoln. Pretty sure we took care of you in the GPP forum. For anyone else who’s interested (this reply is from Thad):

    Thanks for the feedback. Really appreciate it!

    The trouble with changing from [gallery] to something custom is that all existing users will be effected. Most people prefer the ease of use and integration with how [gallery] shortcode is thrown onto the page without needing to write custom shortcodes.

    That said, you can easily modify/fork the plugin to accomplish this for yourself. Just change lines 135 and 136 on gpp_functions.php:

    remove_shortcode('gallery', 'gallery_shortcode');
    		add_shortcode('gallery', 'gpp_gallery_shortcode');

    To something like this:

    remove_shortcode('gallery', 'gallery_shortcode');
    		add_shortcode('gpp_slideshow', 'gpp_gallery_shortcode');

    Adding the ability to use Full Image sizes would likely cause some serious performance problems for users who upload their high-res images. You can fork the plugin to accomplish this, too, on gpp_functions.php. Find instances of this:

    $gallery_size = $gpp['size'];

    And change it to this:

    $gallery_size = 'original';
