• There are three blogs ( all WP 2.5.1 ) which I have been managing for a while. Two of them, located on the same server, after installing Google XML Sitemaps 3.1 read the same message: “Your sitemap is being refreshed at the moment. Depending on your blog size this might take some time!” and nothing works so I am forced to rebuild the sitemap manually after each posting. That message won’t go away.

    The third blog works fine with 3.1.

    What’s wrong? Could be apache settings?

    Thanks in advance.

    @arnee

    FYI, there is improper English running up all through that message. The word “being” comes up as “beeing” there.

    Hi bottleneck,

    thanks for the note, I’ve corrected the spelling. The message appears as long as the “cron job” is scheduled. Maybe there is a problem with the WordPress cron system and the task is never started. Do other cron related things like sending trackbacks work?

    As a workaround, you can disable the use of cron by deactivating the “Build the sitemap in a background process” option.

    Thanks a lot, arnee 🙂

    It works after disabling that option!

    Hi,

    I had the same problem, and this is how I solved it.
