Support » Fixing WordPress » [Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] XML Sitemap Memory Limit Problem

  • I added new posts, and then my xml sitemap won’t update because it says:

    The last run didn’t finish! Maybe you can raise the memory or time limit for PHP scripts.
    The last known memory usage of the script was 18.25MB, the limit of your server is 32M.
    The last known execution time of the script was 1.41 seconds, the limit of your server is 120 seconds.
    The script stopped around post number 2868 (+/- 100)

    When I click debug function, it says this at the bottom:

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 64 bytes) in /home/havod/public_html/wp-includes/load.php on line 552

    The site is http://thatkush.com and it’s a video embedding website, and at first I was showing 20 results on the homepage, but then reduced it down to 15

    The sitemap still says the same problem.

    Anyone know how this can be changed? (I also changed the time / memory to 16M, etc. and it didn’t do anything)

    Here are four ways to increase PHP’s memory allocation:

    1. If you have access to your PHP.ini file, change the line in PHP.ini
    If your line shows 32M try 64M:
    memory_limit = 64M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (64MB)

    2. If you don't have access to PHP.ini try adding this to an .htaccess file:
    php_value memory_limit 64M

    3. Try adding this line to your wp-config.php file:
    Increasing memory allocated to PHP
    define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M');

    4. Talk to your host.
