[Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] sitemap VS. sitemap/

  • I have a problem with my sitemap in regard to the trailing backslash.

For some reason my sitemap works fine with this address:

    http://wpredux.com/sitemap

It also works fine with this address

    http://wpredux.com/sitemap.xml

But, I receive a “Page Not Found” error with this address

    http://wpredux.com/sitemap/

Does anyone know why the trailing backslash would cause this to happen? It seems really weird to me. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You,
    Brian Aldrich

I’m not sure why it doesn’t work, but your sitemap is nothing more than XML feed designed to help search engine bots index your site more efficiently, so there’s really no reason to worry about how to access it as long as http://wpredux.com/sitemap.xml works.
