# [Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] Problem writing sitemap

 * Hi,
 * I am getting the ‘There was a problem writing your sitemap file. Make sure the
   file exists and is writable. and the
    There was a problem writing your zipped
   sitemap file. Make sure the file exists and is writable.’ error messages.
 * Bit confused at why I would receive these as when I click ‘rebuild sitemap manually’
   everything seems to work…
 * Is there something I am missing or is there an issue with the automated script,
   one would think they run the same script if clicking manually or creating a new
   post…?
 * In regards to permissions I have been told that all files have write opportunities,
   I assume this is correct as manually building the files works.
 * As a note, the GET request responds DONE! but actually doesn’t update the file
   and then also displays the error messages at the top of this post.
 * I hope someone can shed some light on this.

 * I have gone back to 3.2.3 and it works no problem… I will wait until it is fixed,
   might try your fix on my own site and reply here later though!
