[resolved] Plugin can't write with WP installed in subdirectory (3 posts)

Whenever I try to generate a sitemap (manually or automatically), this error comes back: There was a problem writing your sitemap file. Make sure the file exists and is writable.

I have Google XML Sitemaps up and running successfully on other sites (hosted on the same server) and the only difference with this one is that the WP installation is not in the root directory but in a subdirectory. However, I read the FAQ, created the two files and made them writeable (CHMOD to 755) as advised. This did not solve the problem.

I'm really hoping someone has a solution, as this is one of my favorite plugins.

I also tried CHMOD to 777 but the error persists. The very strange thing is, I notice the sitemap appears to be written to http://domain.com but NOT to http://www.domain.com. This is very strange, as the path in the admin area is http://www.domain.com/sitemap.xml

    Any ideas? Thanks.

Using a relative, rather than absolute, path seems to work. The file is written. However, it remains invisible when visiting it (despite having proper read permissions), which is really strange.

None of these problems using the plugin with a WP installation in the same directory as the sitemap.
