according to Matt Cutts it´s preferable NOT to strip the file extensions and use .html or the trailing slash (in case it´s a directory) instead. Now I wanted to fix the latter but since WP doesn´t use the trailing slash per default, the xml site generator doesn´t either. All category urls in the sitemap look like this http://sitename.com/categoryname when I need them to look like this http://sitename.com/categoryname/
I do have a tiny plugin called “trailing slash fixer” that automatically puts the slash at the end and I also made sure that this plugin is on top of my plugin list so it runs BEFORE the site generator (or is this just theory?). Still, no success.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
