I only recently found out why this plugin wasn’t working anymore – I removed mysql support from PHP on my servers because I completely migrated to mysqli, and I think there was some kind of specific conflict with having both sometimes too. The PHP “mysql” extension is quite outdated anyway.
So I think this plugin should support mysqli, not just mysql. I made the specific changes to my version of the plugin it so it only uses mysqli function calls (which are nearly the same as the mysql calls anyway), but it would be great if it would “officially” detect if there’s mysqli and prefer it over mysql 🙂
