  • Just upgraded today and I’m getting the exact same results.

Is it just a glitch in the new version?

The new version uses now the WordPress HTTP API instead of the old Snoopy class. Do you experience any issues with other HTTP functions line sending pings / trackbacks?

I know that my server is not set up to allow pings. Does this mean the sitemap submission is working, but my server won’t allow it to show me that it has worked?

I got this error too, is there something in php.ini we need to change to make this plugins work?

    Hello,

I love the plugin works beautifully, the only issue I am having is. I password protected the wp-admin folder, and because of this I am getting errors when “All In One” tried to ping the sites, like bing, google, etc.. with the new sitemap changes. error: http://www.example.com/wp-admin/1

Is there something I can do to fix this, or do I just submit the updated sitemap manually? I’m not sure if this error is actually from password protecting the wp-admin folder or not from what I am reading.

Also is there something else that I should be aware about with this plugin and password protecting the wp-admin folder?

Thanks for all your hard work to make this plugin.

I am having this exact same problem. It only fails though when it is doing the automatic generation of the sitemap. If Click on the manual update it pings to Google correctly. If it runs after a post is generated I get the same result as the original post.

very strange.. I’m not change anything on my server and now it’s success on notify..

did anybody find a fix for this?

nope, still the same problem here. Still get the same errors..

    # There was a problem while notifying Google. View result
    # There was a problem while notifying Bing. View result
    # There was a problem while notifying Ask.com. View result

When I click on “View Result” on Google I get. “http://mysite.com/blog/wp-admin/1” which displays a 404 error on the page

The other two submit fine when I manually click on “View Result”.

    Hi,

this was a quite stupid bug which actually broke the pings in WP versions older than 2.7. It’s fixed now, please update 🙂

    Hi –

Google XML Sitemaps 3-1-4 still giving me a problem. But it seem to act different in different browsers. If I click manual build I get the white page saying Thank you very much for your donation. You help me to continue support and development of this plugin and other free software! Hide this notice.

All the while it appears to effect my Firefox browser. Like it’s reloading it repeatedly. In the address bar my favicon cycles from my favicon to image of sheet w/folded tab to nothing to my favicon again repeatedly. At the same time the status bar in the Firefox browser looks to be in a constant state of reloading The process bar remains white. I also see – connecting to affiliatemoneytips.com, Waiting for affiliatemoneytips.com, Transferring data from affiliatemoneytips.com, stop. That repeats and is in sync with thr favicon cycling in the address bar. When I Stop the loading with my browser button and return to Google XML Sitemaps 3-1-4 settings page it looks like it worked in spite of the browser loop thing.

    Status

    * Your sitemap was last built on June 22, 2009 4:58 pm.
    * Your sitemap (zipped) was last built on June 22, 2009 4:58 pm.
    * Google was successfully notified about changes.
    * Bing was successfully notified about changes.
    * Ask.com was successfully notified about changes.
    * The building process took about 0.52 seconds to complete and used 11.75 MB of memory.
    * If you changed something on your server or blog, you should rebuild the sitemap manually.
    * If you encounter any problems with the build process you can use the debug function to get more information.

I ran the manual rebuild a second time to compare run time and memory used and the are the same both times.

So I use the debug function to get more information. Debug version seems to work fine without messing with my Firefox Browser. It seems to run as I remember it. I saw NO errors and Clicked return to go to the settings page.

The Status section looked the same as what I posted above expect it ran a few seconds longer.

If I go down the page to –

    Location of your sitemap file

    – Detected URL – (and click on the link here)

It takes me to a proper current site map page for my blog and it looks good.I looks like it’s working except for hanging in a loop in my Firefox browser (why is that happening????)

Here something interesting. It appeared that Firefox v3.0.11 was in a loop. It just kept reloading.

I decided to try IE 8 browser. When I do the manual rebuild in IE 8 it doesn’t get stuck in a loop. It sends me to my main Admin Page not back to the settings page to see the results of the manual build. Why would that be happening. Wouldn’t you want to be sent back to the settings page so you could see the rebuild was successful?

    Thanks – John
