  • You are indeed missing something (it adds the Google Talk Chatback to the sidebar), but I just don’t understand why people create plugins like this.

    Plugins: less is more.

    No, it doesn’t at it to the sidebar. You have to copy/paste your iframe from Google, which you could just as easily to in the WordPress text widget.

    hallsofmontezuma – As far as I can tell, you need to add your entire Google Talkback code, including the iFrame tags. It looks like this widget allows us to treat Talkback as a widget in WordPress rather than hard-coding it into our sidebars.

    No, it’s exactly the same as if you copy/paste the code into the built-in text widget that comes with WordPress.

    You are right, it is exactly the same as if you copy/paste the <iframe> code and the plugin actually does not claim to relate to rocket science. Its primary value is giving an insight to WordPress users that such online chat is easily addable to their blogs. If you prefer, you can definitely DIY via a text block.
