A number of my users can’t display the reader using Internet Explorer 7 or 8, and they are not logged into Google when viewing. I have the viewer set to “Enhanced Viewer” because I want to disallow downloading. Are there any fixable known bugs relating to IE 7 or 8, or settings that I can adjust to make it viewable?
I’ve heard some (rare) mention of problems with IE 7 or 8, but have never been able to reproduce the problems myself nor has anyone who’s reported them ever followed through in showing me the issue. Do you have any examples of documents that don’t load under IE 7 or 8? I’ll be glad to investigate further if any information is available.
Roughly 60% of my users reported a complete inability to view the PDFs and they were all using IE 7 or IE 8. The viewer works well on all my machines so it appears to occur randomly. As the viewer behaves at present, it is unusable for my website.
If I could get a few things, I would try to recreate the problem:
1) A document that doesn’t work
2) The complete shortcode you’re using
3) What version of IE
I would try to reproduce this. But as it is, I’ve tested it with IE7 and IE8 on machines I have lying around without issue, and I have only received one or two indications that anyone has a consistent problem with it on those browsers.
